About the FNABC
The objectives of the association are to:
- promote and foster the aims of forest nurseries in the Province of BC and elsewhere where the association's members may be engaged
- educate government, industry and the public in the benefits of growing forest seedlings and the sustainable management of forest lands
- promote and support the continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental responsibility in forest seedling nurseries
- encourage continuing education, research and continual improvement of forest seedling production
- facilitate communication between forest nurseries.
Membership in the associaton can be in one of the following categories:
- Member - an individual or representative of an organization, either public or private, who are actively engaged in forest nursery operations, research/extension or administration
- Student Member - a person attending a university or college as a student in horticulture, forestry or a related field
- Supporting Member - a person or organization who has assisted the activities of the association by providing financial and other support.
The association holds an annual general meeting in September which includes presentations on a variety of topics pertinent to the industry, a business meeting, vendor displays, field trips, award presentations, and a banquet.
