The Forest Nursery Association of BC is pleased to announce that Forest Seedling nurseries have now been made eligible for carbon tax relief, on a similar basis to other Greenhouse Growers in BC.

Eligibility for Carbon Tax Rebates have being broadened to include all commercial greenhouse sectors, including vegetable growers, floriculture, landscape nurseries, and forest seedling nurseries. The grants are intended to help operators increase competitiveness and recognize the greenhouse sector needs carbon dioxide and purposely produces it for plant growth. The grants will be available for the 2013 and future years, and will be set at 80 per cent of the carbon tax paid on specified fuels. All the forest nurseries that applied for the program in 2013 were successful in receiving their rebates. Following this, all forest nurseries who received rebates successfully completed the Ministry of Agriculture online survey and will now be eligible to apply for rebates in 2014..

The program document and application form for the 2014 Greenhouse Carbon Tax Relief Grant Program will be available on the Ministry of Agriculture website and the link will be posted here as soon as it is available.

A new Forest Nursery Association of BC Educational Award has been announced and the Rules and Regulations as well as an application form can be viewed by clicking on the following link:
